Miso salad dressing

Homemade salad dressing is always better and cheaper. Besides, when we make it at home, we don’t get stuck with a full bottle of dressing we are already bored with that takes up room in the fridge.

Here’s a basic guideline for making miso dressing.

3 parts any oil
1 part any vinegar or citrus juice
any miso to taste
spices to taste (optional)

That’s it. So simple that it’s not even a recipe. Try combining peanut oil and freshly squeezed orange juice, or go Japanese with unroasted (not the dark kind) sesame oil and rice vinegar and add a little bit of grated ginger. You get the idea. So many possibilities!

In the photo, a simple salad of greens and sliced apple, with olive oil/ACV/white miso dressing. I may have added a dash or two of hot sauce. When I make dressing, I make enough for 2 salads in a small bottle. I could make it fresh every time, I guess, but I am lazy…
